Why Reading Is My Superpower

Reading

Books opened my eyes to worlds I never knew existed. Before I picked up my first big adventure novel, I thought stories were just for entertainment. Now I know they’re so much more — they’re a superpower.

What reading actually does

When you read, your brain does something amazing: it builds entire worlds out of nothing but words on a page. You become the director, the actor, and the audience all at once. No movie, no game, no app can do that for you.

  • Reading makes your imagination stronger.
  • It helps you understand other people — and yourself.
  • It teaches you new words without it feeling like school.
  • It gives you ideas you can use in real life.

My challenge to you

Pick one book this month. Just one. Read a few pages every night before bed. By the end of the month, you’ll have finished it — and you’ll feel different. I promise.

That’s why I started my Roar for Reading initiative — to help kids fall in love with books again. Books help your mind grow stronger than any screen ever could.
