The news is full of grown-ups doing big things. What about the kids? Trust me — we’re out here changing the world too. You just have to know where to look.
Why I started spotlighting Youth Trailblazers
When I was younger I never saw kids like me in the news, in books, on stages. Everywhere I looked, the people doing the big stuff were adults. That made it really easy to assume kids couldn’t.
But then I started meeting young leaders — kids who’d started food drives, kids who’d invented things, kids who were tutoring smaller kids in their neighbourhood. They were everywhere. They just weren’t getting any spotlight.
So I decided: every month, I’d shine a light on one of them.
What makes someone a Trailblazer
- They saw a problem most kids walked past — and they didn’t.
- They built something, taught something, or organised something.
- They didn’t wait for permission.
- They lift other kids up while they’re at it.
You don’t have to be famous. You don’t have to have a million followers. You just have to be doing something that makes the world a little better than it was before you started.
Nominate someone — or yourself
If you know a young leader, creator, athlete, activist, inventor, volunteer, or anyone in between who’s making a difference — nominate them. They could be the next Trailblazer of the Month.
Head over to the Trailblazers page to submit a nomination. Don’t be shy. If it’s you — nominate yourself.
Because when one kid shines, we all shine brighter.
